Python Scope activity requires you to install the .NET Desktop Runtime 5.0.17

Hello @everyone,

We are using licensed UiPath for enterprise and we are struggling with python activity that require us to install .NET Desktop Runtime 5.0.17. BUT this .NET version is retired version and causes vulnerability issue. We have updated to latest .NET Desktop Runtime version but it causes compatibility issue and automation won’t run. Can someone look into this?

Thanks!

Regards

If installing is not an issue…we can have multiple runtime versions installed

Cheers

We will soon upgrade this package to .NET 6 which should simplify things.

Hi @loginerror

When we should expect this? Isn’t it possible to upgrade to .NET 8? I think that is the current latest version.

This will indeed be the next step, but we rely a bit on the robot/studio teams, so we will follow shortly after their lead

Right now, the most important is to get rid of the annoying requirement of the extra runtime install.

Just to close this thread (the package was released a couple months ago) → the latest Python 1.8.1 no longer requires .NET 5.0.17 runtime
