Hey guys,
I have a very specific question for you today. In the following I will describe you my thoughts.
We normally develop workflows on “PC1”. These are uploaded to the Orchestrator and routed via the Assistant to “PC2”, on which the workflows run with the help of the unattended license (we have 1 unattended license).
Now we want to bring PC “X” into play. A device from a colleague on which special software is permanently installed (named user). The planned workflow interacts with this software.
In my understanding I have to install the Remote Runtime.msi on PC “X” and the UiPath Extension “Windows Remote Desktop” on PC 1 to establish a connection between the two devices and to use the graphical selectors of PC “X”. Then the workflow can be developed.
But what about execution now?
Does this also have to be done via some kind of remote or can PC “X” simply be added as another machine to the machine template of the unattended license?
This raises the following additional questions:
- Is it possible to download/use the Assistant again on PC “X” based on the license (as long as the unattended license only operates on one computer at a time)?
- In general: Any number of computers can be assigned to a machine template (license-wise, okay?)
- What else is needed on PC “X”? Login details/account? Where do I enter these? Can I even create another user (from a license perspective?)
I hope I have succeeded in portraying the situation accordingly and would like to ask you for your advice on how this case is usually approached/solved in practice in other companies.
Your feedback would help us a lot in the current situation!
Thank you!
Regards
Marco
