Passing stored procedure parameters to MySQL/MariaDB

I have created a stored procedure call in MariaDB/MySQL and have successfully called it outside of UiPath. I then created parameters with an Execute Non-Query Activity of the form “call import_daily(@closedate, @weekending)” where closedate and weekending are specified as parameters with assigned values.
When I look at the query log in MariDB/MySQ I see the query but the parameter values have not been substituted. MariaDB sees the query as call import_daily(@closedate, @weekending) in the query log. What is preventing the parameter values from being substituted before the SQL is sent to the database?
