Object Repository --> Capture Elements -> Highlight

The Capture Elements window is a great but one key feature I miss is the ability to highlight an already existing Element in the Object Repository right from the Capture Elements window.

Right clicking on an element in Capture Elements window gives only two options

Studio Stable 21.10.5

Current behaviour
A developer open up Capture Elements from the right click menu on the Screen.

  1. The Capture windows pops up

  2. The Record button is pressed

  3. The target element is recorded

  4. Now to highlight the element, a developer has to
    a. Click on the element, navigate to its selector on the right hand side and click on UiExplorer and press Highlight element in the UiExplorer
    OR
    b. Close the Capture Elements window, and highlight the element from the Object Respository window in Studio (Right click on element and clicking Highlight)

Expected behaviour
A developer opens up Capture Elements from the right click menu on the Screen.

  1. The Capture windows pops up
  2. The Record button is pressed
  3. The target element is recorded
  4. The user right clicks on the element and can press Highlight right in the Capture Elements window

For example -

This can speed up the recording and verification process.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hi,

After a lot of trying to find the highlight button in the Capture Window, I see that this function already exists, but is activated when hovering over the element.

It would be really great, if the highlight button can be clearly shown to the user rather than showing the feature only when hovering.

Current behavior: On hover a small highlight icon in show.

Suggested behavior:
Right click on the element.

OR

Click on the element and show the Highlight button on the configuration panel / right under the description or right above the Selector/Fuzzy Selector.

OR
Remove mouse event listener On Hover function and let the UI show the button beside the element.

Thank you @jeevith for your consideration, it has been added in our tracking list and will be addressed in a future release.
