I’m new to UiPath and excited to explore this amazing skill. I have some experience with automation tools and programming, but I’m looking for guidance on where to start with UiPath.

Could you please suggest the best resources, tutorials, or beginner-friendly projects to get hands-on experience? Also, any tips or advice for someone starting their journey in Robotic Process Automation would be greatly appreciated!

The recommended roadmap would be as follows:

  • Firstly, ensure you’ve completed the foundation course on the UiPath Academy. If you haven’t, I strongly advise you to begin with the UiPath Academy Foundation available at academy.uipath.com.

  • Once you’ve finished this, the subsequent step is to delve into learning the Orchestrator and the Robotic Enterprise Framework. These are pivotal because they are typically the starting point for any company project involving UiPath. So, in total, you’ll be undertaking three courses from the UiPath Academy: the Foundation course, Orchestrator training, and RE Framework.

  • While undertaking these courses, it’s imperative not to skip the assignments provided at the end of each lesson. As a beginner, I recommend practicing every assignment diligently to solidify your understanding.

  • After completing these foundational steps, the next phase involves creating small proof of concepts (POCs). This usually entails knowledge of Excel automation, email automation, PDF handling, web scraping, and data scraping. Additionally, as development requires coding, it would be beneficial to start learning the basics of VB.Net simultaneously.

  • UiPath regularly hosts sessions covering various topics. I highly recommend attending these sessions as they offer valuable insights, and they are free of charge. You can find more information about these sessions at community.uipath.com.

  • Once you’ve become sufficiently comfortable with UiPath, it’s advisable to pursue UiPath Certification.
