Internal error from nowhere

Hi,
I’m working on a robot and at some point I get a “An internal error has occurred. It is recommended to restart UiPath Studio.” As you can imagine, restarting doesn’t help.

This error occurs when I open some sequence and not every time, sometimes it does and sometimes it don’t. If I click “Later” I can run my robot without any problems, there is no validation errors. I’m confused because I got this error from nowhere, I wasn’t making some big modifications and I used only UiPath’s classic activities.

PS : The System.Windows is already imported.

I get the same, Community Edition. Opening a particular sequence in Flowchart for editing, this error occurs every time. Will try running it & see if it works for me OK, as you said, @elpocoloco running it is not an issue.

usually this error occurs when the error associated activity has a variable and that variable has no value in it like null value
only then this error will come

–so to validate that before to the activity where this error occured, use a write line activity and mention that variable as input
–then we could see the output in the output panel with the value of the variable if it has any
–or it will not which will ensure that the variable has no value in it and if so in order to handle this use a IF condition before to that activity where this error occured like this
Not String.IsNullOrEmpty(yourvariablename)
if true it will go to THEN part where we can have that activity with this variable and even continue with our remaining process within this part itself
or if the condition fails it will go to ELSE part where we can leave it empty
–on doing this we wont face this issue

Thank you both for answering.
Indeed I read that this error occurs when a reference is not set but how can I know which reference is it ? The error message don’t give this information and I can validate my robot without errors and run it also without problems.

This error occurs randomly across the workflow, I don’t know where is the origin point of this.

Does all string etc variables need to be set to an default value even if there is nothing, like someString=“” ?

Sorry for late answer, unfortunatly I can’t share the workflow. But I solved this issue by re-creating the flow in a new process by copying, pasting and checking each step. I think my .xml file was corrupted or something like that.

It is not mandatory, as per my knowledge to give default values for all variables.

And also, please try using Validate Option at the top banner if you are able to see the issue/root cause.
