This automation integrates cutting-edge technologies like UiPath Bots, Generative AI Image Analysis, and Context Grounding to create a robust and scalable solution for automating EEG monitoring. EEG, or Electroencephalography, is a critical tool for studying brain activity, often used to diagnose neurological conditions such as epilepsy or brain injuries. Currently, clinicians must manually monitor EEG readings round-the-clock to identify anomalies, an approach that is both labor-intensive and prone to human error.
With this solution, the process is entirely automated:
Input Source: The system can handle both live video feeds and pre-recorded EEG recordings. A Python script preprocesses the input by breaking it into individual frames for analysis.
Anomaly Detection: UiPath’s GenAI Image Analysis activity examines each frame to detect sudden changes in brainwave patterns, such as transitions to abnormal signal wavelengths (e.g., delta or theta).
Alert System: When an anomaly is detected, the bot triggers an alert, sending an email to the medical team with key details about the incident, including a screenshot of the abnormal brainwave signal for reference.
Contextual Data Storage: Incident data, including patient details and analysis outcomes, is ingested into a Vector Database for context grounding.
AI Agent for Insights: Clinicians can later retrieve this data through an AI-powered app that uses Generative AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques, enabling them to ask questions and gain precise insights without manually sifting through raw data.
This end-to-end automation not only streamlines EEG monitoring but also ensures timely interventions, improving patient outcomes. Moreover, the framework is adaptable for other live-stream monitoring use cases, such as traffic surveillance, security footage analysis, or industrial incident detection.
