How to disable the Edge Restore Popup window?

How to handle pop-ups in a browser?

To disable the Edge Restore Popup window, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the following path and locate the file named 'Preferences':

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default

  1. Drag the 'Preferences' file into Notepad to open its contents.

  2. Press 'Ctrl + F' to open the Find dialog, then search for 'exit type'. The current value should be Crashed; change it to none.

  3. 'Press Ctrl + S' to save the changes and then close Notepad.

  4. 'Right-click' on the 'Preferences' file, then select 'Properties'.

  5. In the Properties window, check the box for 'Read-only' to prevent Microsoft Edge from altering this file's contents.

Great!. No more Restore pop-up and the annoying Search box in the middle of the screen is gone too. Unexpected consequence - Edge now opens in a smaller window ~ 1/4 of the full screen.

After this modification Edge opens in a small window, not maximized. Set Run: Normal, or Maximized - no effect. Can this be helped?
