How to connect and perform insert operation in Oracle SQL devloper

Hi,

I tried to connect to Oracle SQL developer which is in my local PC. I tried to perform insert operation in one table. Process execution is successfully started and ended but the row is not inserted not at all.
I gave valid username , password, Database name and table name.
Can any one share the code or screenshots to connect and to perform insert option. please help it guys.
