How to connect and copy a file from a remote server to local computer

Hello everyone,
I would want to connect and copy a file from a remote server using the ftp protocol is there anyway i could achieve using a VB.Net code . I found this and its exactly what i want WinSCP .NET Assembly and COM Library :: WinSCP but i am having issues implementing it
