Hi all, I am trying to extract data from a pdf but having issues using the get text activity with the CV selector option (None of the other options like Strict selector were available so I had to use CV). It identifies the element I want well whenever I check but it always throws an error when it runs throwing a “Object not found error” even though the text is clearly visible on the pdf.
…as you can see it can clearly identify the element just never in runtime for some weird reason
For pdf it is advised to use read pdf text activity and then perform string manipulations or regex texhniques to extract the required information…that would be more reliable…try to follow that

Hi @Anil_G, I have tried doing that but I couldn’t get the regex to work.
All I am trying to do is get these tax parcels from a pdf file
This is what the text looks like when extracted to UiPath
This is the regex expression I have tried that always ends up being null
“Tax Parcel: .{8,}”
Can you maybe suggest an expression to get all the tax parcels if mine is wrong?

Use regex (?<=Tax Parcel: )(.*)
Utilize the code as mentions below in UiPath inside Assign activity.
Result is of type MatchCollection
System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Matches(strPdfText, "(?<=Tax Parcel: )(.*)")
How do I convert the output to a string? I tried output.Value(some index) and output.Value but the editor throws an error for both.

Regex Pattern: (?<=Tax Parcel\:\s+).*
=> Read PDF Text activity
Output-> inputString
=> Use Find Matching Patterns activity and configure like below:
Pattern: "(?<=Tax Parcel\:\s+).*"
Text to search in: Your pdf text output variable
Result: Create a Variable say Matches
=> Use For Each loop to iterate through Matches variable and CurrentMatch.ToString will print the extracted value.
