Dear UiPath Apps Users,
In our commitment towards continuous improvement, we are transitioning from legacy Apps to VB Apps. This is the final reminder to migrate to VB Apps. If migrated, please ignore.
UiPath legacy apps or previous generation apps that use legacy expression language will be deprecated over the next 2 months ; by 30 Jun 2025. This marks the end of support for Legacy Apps and no future support to be provided. To avoid disruptions, please upgrade your application
Timeframe of Deprecation
Phase | Automation Cloud Timeline | Status |
---|---|---|
You will not be able to create any new legacy apps but still can edit, clone and import apps | Aug-24 | Completed |
You will only be able to see and migrate, but not edit, clone and import legacy apps | Dec-24 | Completed |
Legacy Apps are turned off, and support for them is terminated | Jun-25 | Coming up soon |
This change provides users with more robust VB expression language in Apps similar to other parts of the UiPath Platform products. It also enables you to build apps faster, using a more robust language also used in other UiPath products, removing the need for you to learn an additional language. To ensure a smooth transition, the UiPath Apps team has provided a Legacy migration tool as well
We disabled the legacy Apps creation in Aug 2024 and in Dec 24, all legacy Apps have been in read only mode. From 1st July 2025 , no legacy app runtime will be supported, and all support will be terminated. All Legacy Apps will cease to run by 1st July 2025
For help with migrating your app if not done , please refer to the migration guide available in the UiPath Documentation.

There are two methods to check that your app is impacted.
if the app URL contains the following parameter: el=LEGACY
If you edit your app and you see the Migration Utility tool that says Migrate to VB
Will I lose my data if I use the migration tool ?
No, the Apps migration utility tool creates a separate VB app. Your old app is untouched and not impacted. For issues with expressions migration to VB please refer to the VB migration guide link above.
