Announcement : Phase Wise Legacy Apps Deprecation

Dear Community

In continuation of our endeavour, support for legacy apps, the previous generation of apps that used the legacy (non-VB) expression language in Automation Cloud, will be gradually removed in the near future. You can use the VB migration tool to facilitate the migration of Legacy Apps.

The phased deprecation plan for Legacy Apps is as follows:

Phase Timeline
You no longer have the option to create new Legacy Apps (you can still edit, clone and import Legacy Apps). July 2024
Apps Studio becomes read-only for Legacy Apps (you can no longer edit, clone or import Legacy Apps). December 2024
Legacy Apps and their runtime are removed (end-of-support). June 2025

As part of our commitment towards continuous improvement, we are transitioning from Legacy Apps to VB Apps. This transition brings a number of benefits, chief among them access to VB expressions. This enables you to build apps faster, using a more robust language also used in other UiPath products, removing the need for you to learn an additional language.

Starting with July 2024, you can no longer create new Legacy Apps in Automation Cloud. You can still edit, clone, and import any existing apps in Automation Cloud until December 2024. As such, we recommend that you plan your migration accordingly. Migration utility does not impact existing apps.

Starting with December 2024, all Legacy Apps in Automation Cloud will become read-only. In June 2025, Legacy Apps and their associated runtime will be removed and no longer supported.

Details on the deprecation plan for Automation Suite will follow separately at a later date.

As part of our customer commitment, we will continue to provide bug fixes for core features, until end-of-support.

We understand the importance of this transition and are here to support you throughout the upgrade process.

We recommend that you regularly check the deprecation timeline for any updates regarding features that will be deprecated and removed.

Dear @udit.chandna it would be really great if the Apps migration tool could also migrate variables and formulas. Is there a plan to extend the functionality of the migration tool?

Thank you!

There are some technical limitations to migrate the same and hence not supported
