Feedback from a proficient user of StudioX needed

Hi UiPath members,

I would like to find an experienced user of StudioX to find out what limitations StudioX has in comparison with Studio. I have already made a research on differences between the two but I need to know more. Anyone can help me out?

yes, studiox is a limited version of Studio, plataform with 0 code, for who dont have any skill on development

Studio(standard) is an IDE with multiple possibilities, like the sky is the limit but for those who have code skill and undestand how to developer a project

HI @Petrunina_Yulia

While StudioX is designed to be a simplified version of UiPath Studio targeted at citizen developers and business users, it does have some limitations compared to Studio. Here are a few key limitations of StudioX :

  1. Limited Activities: StudioX provides a subset of activities compared to Studio. While it covers common automation scenarios, some advanced or specialized activities available in Studio may not be available in StudioX. This can limit the flexibility and complexity of automation processes that can be built in StudioX.

  2. Custom Activities: In StudioX, you cannot create custom activities using the Visual Studio-based development framework. Custom activities can only be created in Studio using programming languages like C# or VB.NET. This limitation restricts the ability to extend StudioX with custom functionality.

  3. Advanced Programming Capabilities: StudioX does not provide the full range of programming capabilities available in Studio. For example, StudioX does not support advanced coding features like loops, conditionals, and custom code snippets. It focuses more on a visual, no-code/low-code approach to automation.

  4. Limited Integration Options: StudioX has limited integration options compared to Studio. While it supports integration with popular applications like Excel, Outlook, and web browsers, it may not have the same level of integration capabilities with certain systems or APIs as Studio. This can impact the ability to automate complex end-to-end processes that involve a wide range of applications and systems.

  5. Customization and Extensibility: StudioX is more focused on providing pre-built activities and templates for common business scenarios, limiting the ability to customize and extend the platform extensively. Studio, on the other hand, offers greater customization and extensibility options through custom activities, libraries, and reusable components.

Hope it helps!!
