How to fix the issue while integrating JIRA with Automation Hub when the Issue Type is "Epic"?

Error Message: Network trace will show same error as the screenshot below,

Root Cause: There is a Parent Link field on the template issue (issue type as Epic), which seems required for creating issue API, but the template does not have any Parent Link and it’s None, which breaks the create flow.



Resolution: Since this is a new integration, there are two workarounds:

  • Contact the Jira instance admin to remove Parent Link field for the Intelligent Automation project
  • Use other issue type like Story or Task, instead of Epic for the template.
