Difference between Uipath Robot and UiPath assistant

Hi Everyone. I was doing research into deploying robots to a different machine and it said to use UiPath robot and that UiRobot.exe can be found in %localappdata%\UiPath\app-17.1.6414. I cannot find this file and so my question is if it was replaced with UiPath assistant in the newer versions of UiPath?

Yes you need to install the UiPath assistant

Hi,

In resent version, UiRobot.exe is installed into %USERPROFILE%\Local\Programs\UiPath\Studio
in per user installation.

Can you check the above?

Thanks for the quick responses. @Yoichi i managed to find the robot.exe file in the folder you suggested. What does this file do and how do i go about using it?

HI,

UiRobot.exe can do as follows:

  • Execute process
  • Connect/Disconnect with Orchestrator
  • install process
    etc.

The following document will help you.

If you want to launch process via GUI, Can you try to use UiPath Assistant? It’s like front end of UiRobot.exe.
