Difference between Studio Web & StudioX under Automation Express Licensing and Community Licensing

As mentioned in the Automation Express Documentation, Automation Express grants limited access to only StudioX and Studio Web, I hope to know that what are the exact difference of StudioX and Studio Web using Automation Express license and Community License.

Appreciated!

Hello @Xu_Nuo

These are the Differences between Automation Express License & Community Licence

  1. Automation Express License: The Automation Express license typically offers more advanced features and capabilities compared to the free Community License. It might include additional functionalities, premium support, and more flexibility in terms of scaling and deployment. Users with this license might have access to priority support, advanced features, and integration options, making it suitable for businesses with more complex automation needs.

  2. Community License: The Community License is a free option provided by UiPath to help individuals and small teams get started with automation. While it provides access to UiPath StudioX and other UiPath tools, it might have limitations in terms of support, advanced features, and scalability. It’s generally suitable for personal projects, learning, or smaller-scale automation initiatives.

Hope It Helps

Thanks @vinitha_yachamaneni
May I know, exactly what are the additional functions that Automation Express have but the Community version does not have. Because I feel like all the activities usage are still the same.

Hi, I have already read the two links, but it never specify what are the exact difference using StudioX and Studio Web under the two types of license (Community and Automation Express license)

Hi @Xu_Nuo :slight_smile:

As of my Knowledge, These are the additional Functions that Automation Express have but the Community version does not have …

  • Advanced Activities and Integrations
  • Premium Support
  • Scalability and Deployment Options
  • Enhanced Security Features
  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Training and Learning Resources
  • Access to Updates and New Features
  • Licensing Flexibility

@vinitha_yachamaneni Thanks for the help.
May I know, where can I find resources about these differences.
I truly need it!

@Xu_Nuo

The main difference is community is only for R & D and not to develop your production bots

On community version you have no control over the studio updates …it updates automatically which is not suited for production

Also community has support from community page only and if you get a license you can get support from UiPath customer support as well

Cheers

You’re Welcome @Xu_Nuo

Once Go through this in UiPath Official Documentation :
https://docs.uipath.com/automation-cloud/automation-cloud/latest/admin-guide/the-automation-express-license

Or you can Use UiPath Academy

I hope It helps…

@Anil_G Thanks for the reply.
So is it correct to say that generally, in terms of constructing workflow using StudioX and Studio Web, there is no difference between community and Automation Express?

For updating, I check the Automation Express license documentation , it mentions that “for the Automation Express group. It is automatically set to Latest version , and cannot be changed”. Does this mean, it is same as community as we are forced to use updated version?

Regarding the support, if I using Free License Automation Express, I still do not have UiPath Support based on the licensing documentation.

See screenshot below:

Appreciate your reply and clarification

Hi, I have read this documentation, however, i did not identify any Premium Support, Enhanced Security Features, Advanced activities and integrations mentioned inside. In fact, StudioX is more restricted as it only allows usage of StudioX and Studio Web. Also, if I use free licensing Automation Express, I also do not have UiPath Support, No security options…

See screenshot below

@Xu_Nuo

Free and community does not have support …if you take a license then you have support …

And coming to latest version…community and free plans are on latest preview versions and licensed automation express would be on stable latest version

Hope this clarifies

Cheers

Hi Vinitha - i have been following the automation explorer class (from UiPath) and now in the middle of the associate developer class, with a Free license - but 60 days have passed and i now have been bumped to a community license, and I struggle with licenses not available anymore for mu automation scripts (which are currently all attended scripts) .
My first question - reading your input here - can I continue with Studio or do i need to switch to Studio X ?
