Cannot Select UI Elements In SAP GUI / SAP NWBC

While SAP NWBC is open, UiPath can no longer interact with SAP GUI, and the error: "Cannot communicate with SAP GUI Scripting interface." is thrown.

Issue Description: When using SAP GUI and SAP NWBC at the same time, UiPath fails to recognize UI elements from one or the other.

The error thrown looks like in the below example:



Root Cause: Both apps use the same interface, so only one can be used at a time for automation purposes.


Resolution:

  • Use only one app at a time.
  • Start SAP GUI, select the UI elements, close it.
  • Then launch NWBC, select the UI elements, close it.
