Best Code Management Solutions

I am looking for opinions/insights on how everyone handles there code/version management. I have previously used SVN and have just briefly started using Git Repositories through Azure DevOps. I am just looking for any tips, tricks, or advice on how everyone else handles their code base. Especially if you also DevOps.

Thanks!

Hello @jpreziuso!

It seems that you have trouble getting an answer to your question in the first 24 hours.
Let us give you a few hints and helpful links.

First, make sure you browsed through our Forum FAQ Beginner’s Guide. It will teach you what should be included in your topic.

You can check out some of our resources directly, see below:

Clicking the options button will let you set more specific topic search filters, i.e. only the ones with a solution.

  2. Topic that contains most common solutions with example project files can be found here.

  3. Read our official documentation where you can find a lot of information and instructions about each of our products:

  4. Watch the videos on our official YouTube channel for more visual tutorials.

Hi @jpreziuso,
Maybe our lovely @UiPath-MVP or @Community_Moderators have some experience which could be shared with you

Hello @jpreziuso,

Most of the projects that I have implemented use the Azure Repos which are very easy to connect through UiPath Studio. Here are some of the common tips we provide to our new devs:

  • Check-in at regular frequencies to avoid any loss of code

  • Check-out the specific file that needs modification instead of the entire project, which makes traceability easier and makes working in a multiple developers team seamless. And Check-in only files that were recently added/modified instead of the entire project.

  • Check-in with appropriate comments

  • When working in shifts, always a best practice to get the latest code

  • Check-out the project.json file before publishing

Hope you find this useful!

Regards,
PD
