AI Challenge - Extract Document data and Identify approved data in Supporting Documents (Email Chain, chat messages, etc.)
Use Case Description
There are several use cases where there are supporting documents available along with the Document data (Main Document) which contains fields/values to be extracted. The supporting documents may contain Email Chain, Chat messages and other verbal readings which conclude the approval of the data present in the Main Document.
An Example of such use case I had encountered with was - FCY (Foreign Currency) Transactions Transfer Request. The documents are first received in the front desk and are being scanned and uploaded to the System for further processing. Here, the main document was considered as the Transfer Letter Request and there were Documents of Email Chains provided as supporting documents. The SME’s would have to extract the details present in the Transfer Letter Request and then verify if the data extracted was approved or fetch the approved data from the email chain which is mismatch in the extracted data and then continue further with the remaining steps of the process.
Other Challenges Faced :
- Certain requests can have multiple transfer requests along with it’s corresponding supporting documents
- A single page document could have multiple transfer requests.
- The transfer requests could also be in the format of a table with the details for extraction presented in different columns.
- Identification of Stamps in the Transfer Request.
- Extraction of handwritten data present.
