A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server error after PaaS installation

Azure App Service installed but Orchestrator won't load. Identity logs show the following error "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server".

Issue description:

Azure App Service installed but Orchestrator won't load. Identity logs show the following error "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server".

Resolution:

  1. Verify the connection string in both the Orchestrator and Identity App Service.
  2. Follow the instructions for our Azure App Service Installation as seen here
    1. The name for the database connection string in both Orchestrator and Identity should be identical to the documentation:
      1. Orchestrator - "Default"
      2. Identity - "DefaultConnection"
    2. Verify that it is exactly as written in our docs, it is also case-sensitive.

If the issues persist, please open a support ticket and include the Azure Logs.
