can anyone tell me what is the use of Enabling the Requires Reference while creating the Fields in Taxonomy manager

Enabling Requires reference means the field can only be filled if you select or anchor its value directly from the document during validation. This ensures every value for that field is traceable to the actual document, increasing data reliability and compliance
