Dear UiPath comunity:
I am new at a small but growing RPA developing company in south america.
I have just one month at the company in the Human resources area, and I want to do my best here. Right now I am in charge of creating the careerpath, and as long as I haven’t worked with UiPath in my life, I don’t know if the Business Analyst job position is the base to turn into an RPA Developer or if you need to be an RPA developer first.
A business analyst is someone who analyzes business practices. It doesn’t necessarily have to do with RPA. BAs exist for many reasons. In RPA the BAs typically analyze business processes to understand them for automation purposes.
The business analyst is the one of role in RPA. In the start of the project the BA connect with SME to take the requirements of the project and create a PDD. This PDD helps to the RPA developer to develop the automation.
But at start of the project the BA will take care of requirements, workflow, conditions and creation of PDD. He will give more explanation to developers.
In you want to jump into the RPA the BA is not a Starting point the BA role is different and developer role is different.
Based on your interest you have to select the role.
Hope it helps!!
Hi @Joaquin_Gonzalez ,
The Business Analyst is the one who gathers the requirements of the process with the SME and creates the Process Design Document.
You don’t need to be fully technical to become a Business Analyst since the role will require more understanding of the process and envisioning what will be the TO-BE process of it.
If you are keen to be a BA, you can take the Business Analyst Foundation course at the UiPath Academy. RPA Business Analyst Foundation
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Kenneth
