Total Newb question - error during training

I’ve followed the video instructions exactly (I think) and am getting the following validation error on a variable: ERROR Compiler error(s) encountered processing expression “new String{}”.
End of expression expected.

I’m baffled.

FYI I solved my own problems. The trainer (Australian) used the term “Brackets” when I would normally say “Parentheses.” So instead of “new String{}” it needed to be “new String(){}” …
