StudioX Features in Studio

Hello,

My work is in the process of upgrading my PC. I went to install StudioX on my new PC by going to the Automation Cloud at cloud.ui.path.com and I download Studio Desktop, it downloaded Studio instead of StudioX. It is Studio version 2025.0.157 Community License. I am not sure if my organization upgraded me to a Studio license or if something else happened, but I am fine with this upgrade and learning Studio. I copied over some of my automations I built in StudioX to the new PC. However, I see in the most recent update there is no longer an option to switch profiles from Studio to StudioX. Is there a way to get or toggle some of these StudioX “shortcuts” or “features” in Studio? (I’m not sure of their proper name.) For example, in a lot of activities in StudioX if I click the + button I get the option to enter Text or a Number instead of just the Expression Editor. Or when I enter a file location it defaults to a “shortcut” of the location such as “Desktop” instead of the string.Format(xxx)Environment.GetFolderPath, like in this image.

Thank you!

@Zach,

Latest update to the Studio giving a devloper ability to open and modify the StudioX code without switching the profile. Clearly Studio can’t be compared with StudioX and vice versa as each have there own purpose and targeted users.

You can try changing your licence to citizen developer if required StudioX
