On prem to on prem orchestrator migration

Hi team ,

Just one generic question , if we remove process from orchestrator ,will it remove all the associated data from the MS SQL DB as well?

@gokul1904

When you say associated data? Are you refereing to job logs?

If so no it wont remove

Cheers

@gokul1904,

All historical logs, queue’s data and other associated data will be there.

I mean , if I delete process , queue data , asset data and all that is possible from the front end like schedule , triggers etc ,
1.those will be cleared from backend too , right?
2.what all will be there related to that process in the backend that needs to be deleted so that everything with regards to that automation is cleared ?

We want to ensure all the data with regards to that automation is deleted.

@gokul1904,

Once you delete the process, the data associated would be get delinked or deleted as per the database schema. This is what my understanding is.

I tried to find the Database schema for Orchestrator but didn’t get one as UiPath didn’t made the documentation public (Reference year 2020 not sure if changed something)

@CosminV, would you please throw some light on this?

thank you for the update -

can you please throw some light on the question 2 above -
2.what all will be there related to that process in the backend that needs to be deleted so that everything with regards to that automation is cleared ?

there should not be anything like I said. It will delete or delink it.
For more clarity we will have to wait for George to respond.

According to me there will still be some historical data like logs in the backend or do we have a provision to delete all historical data from frontend ( orchestrator ) as well?..but lets wait for George as you had said

apart from job logs , can we remove everything from backend with the help of frontend ( orchestrator) deletion ? I want to ensure during migration , no historical data resides in the backend , thats it.If logs will stay in the database , should we delete those tables ? is this the way ? Is there a way to delete logs from Orchestrator?

@gokul1904

I dont think you can delete everything from frontend

and logs deletion will be based on retention policy or directly delete from db

cheers

I just want a list of things that will reside in the DB after deleting all the possible data from frontend like - process , queue , asset , schedule , triggers ,package , storage buckets (logs if possible ).please let me know if you have an idea

@gokul1904

  1. Logs (Process and audit)
  2. Usage history like AI units consumption etc
