Object reference not set to an instance of an object while getting queue items

Hello,

i have queue with name “Test_uniquereference” and using get transation items i am trying to get queue items, but getting error.

Hi @Mathkar_kunal

  1. The error “Object reference not set…” means the activity is receiving a Nothing value.

    Please check:

    • Orchestrator Folder is correct.
    • Queue Name is selected correctly.
    • TransactionItem output variable is initialized as QueueItem.
    • Make sure the queue has New items.

    Most likely, check the Folder + Queue Name combination first.

It could be because the Transaction Postpone date/time is set. If the postpone time has not been reached, the QueueItem will not be available for processing and Get Transaction Item may not return it.

Could you please click on Details and share the error message? That will help us identify the exact issue.

A few things you might have to check.
Firstly, verify whether the “Test Queue” Orchestrator folder path exists. If it doesn’t, make sure the correct folder path is provided.

Also, I don’t think the object reference issue is coming from the Get Transaction Item activity. Since you’re not getting any results, the error might be occurring after Get Transaction Item activity. Debug the workflow and identify the exact activity where the exception is thrown.

Also, check whether the postpone timer configured on the queue items has already elapsed. If it has, then I would recommend checking the timezone configured for the Orchestrator queue and comparing it with the timezone used by UiPath Studio, as a timezone mismatch could probably give this error.

It looks like due to the Postpone date there in the Postpone column. Till that date/time don’t pass, you won’t get that queue item.

If you want to process those now instead of waiting till that, just edit the queue item and remove the postpone date. Those queue items will get picked up.
