macOS automation prerequisites

Hello,

I have the following questions about testing/building automations on macOS:

  1. A enterprise subscription is mandatory? A community subscription cannot be used for testing?
  2. Only with ARM based version UiPath Assistant for Mac can be used?

From article published by Andrei Oros here (How to build a macOS automation with UiPath: a fast start guide | Community blog) I saw that he is referring only to the ARM version of Assistant. So, is not available with the Intel version of Assistant? It could be a limitation because a lot of devices with Intel macOS are still available. He didn’t specified if is a enterprise subscription is mandatory.

Thank you!

@Bogdan_Istrate

it does support intel also ..here are prereqs..on orchestrator → click right top ? symbol → select downlods

also coming to installation you can install community as well on mac..

cheers

Hi,

Are you talking based on an assumption or did you test it in this configuration: community subscription + Intel based Assistant?
Because I already test it in this configuration before I asked and it didn’t work.

Thank you!

@Bogdan_Istrate

May I kow what you tried

did you download the right file from orchestartor?

its not based on assumptions but was tested few months back

also screenshots provided are the latest from community cloud orchestrator

cheers

Hello,

It’s blocked in “Waiting for job to run on your local machine”.
Take a look at these screens:

@andreioros @loginerror do you have a clue regarding this issue? Please see the original message from the top and the print-screens. Is this working only with ARM version of Assistant?

Thank you!

Indicating on macOS desktop apps UI elements only works via the Assistant for Mac (arm Mx cpu family). The capability is not limited to enterprise, it’s part of UI Automation and should works on community too.

Thank you, Andrei,

Is what I presumed, that is limited to ARM architecture.
Unfortunately, I still have an old macBook with an Intel CPU and I couldn’t test it on another with an ARM CPU family.
Thank you again for your clarification.
