Indicate App Function is Failing

Hello,

Need some help.

I am using Use Application/Browser Activity.

I hit indicate application and it appears UiPath Studio just isn’t recognizing the app window that is open. I see the green indicator show up in the corner of the window (not the usual highlighting the app window itself), when I hit it it takes the location of an unrelated Windows app. I am on the latest version of Studio.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi @Suburban
Welcome to the community

If you are indicating the browser, and it shoes yellowish, Then You need to enable the UiPath extension for that browser.

Make sure to install it first:

If it is an application, could you tell which one it is?
Also, Are you trying to indicate an application inside another VM/Remote Desktop?

Could you please share a screenshot

Also open only the application that you want to capture and close everything else to isolate the issue. In the use browser or application - Capture the screen again. Make sure you are capturing the right application and not any other application

Then try to do capture another element using click / other UI activity. If same issue - Press F4 / Change the mode to active accessibility from the selector window instead of Auto and give a try

Hi @Suburban

To resolve the issue with Use Application/Browser not recognizing the app window, try running UiPath Studio as Administrator, use the Attach Window activity instead, enable UI Automation in the settings, and make sure all UiPath dependencies are updated in Manage Packages.

All browsers are enabled. I tried a browser and then tried Notepad and other applications just to see if it was a browser related issue.

Not remote. On local desktop.

Hello @Suburban

Are you facing this issue with all the application or just browser?
