I am trying to assign variable JIRA user onto ASSIGN ISSUE activity , but get the object cast error. pls advice

Dear wizards,

while working with JIRA , we are trying to assign a issue to a JIRA user and while doing it via Assign activity i get error as below

i have referred jira_software_activites_user_manual_v1.0.2.docx document

, it shows user name can be email but still i end up with this error , please advice.
