How to merge data from two queues into a single Insights dashboard

There are two ways you can merge the data from 2 queues.

Option 1:-

Merging data from one queue into another queue using one common column.

In this case you can consider the queue name as the common column and merge data from one queue into another queue in the widget.

  • Click on the “Add New Tile”
  • Choose an explorer (either the process name / Queue Name) from whichever you want the data.
  • On selecting You will be landing to the page with the all the fields that can be accessed.
  • Choose all the fields that you might need to create the dashboard

Incase if tables need to cross join . Eg., If two Queues data need to be merged and to be provided in a single tile. Then the Explorer needs to be merged.

STEPS TO CROSS JOIN EXPLORERS :

Once we have Selected the Primary Queue/Processes in the previous step. Select the fields in the left side that you want to be utilized across the other table data.

  • Click on the “Explore from here” option available in the top right corner and click Leave if pop up comes up

  • Once the page loaded, Click on the Settings icon on the top right corner. and Select the “MERGE RESULTS” option.

  • It takes some time to load. Once loaded you will be asked to select the next Queue/ Process from which you need the data. This will be considered the Secondary Queue/Process.

  • On Selection of the Secondary Queue/Process , select all the fields that's needed to be merged. Select the common field between the primary and the secondary to merge it without any issues.
  • Once selected the fields click on Save and close. You will be landed in this page.

  1. Add Query - You can add many more Queues and processes that needs to be merged
  2. Merging Conditions - Many conditions can be added as needed
  3. We can see data from two different tables in the same explorer
  4. the settings next to each Queue allows you to set the primary and the secondary Queues/Process if needed
  5. You can switch to all the Queries and then you can add all the fields that is needed.

Option 2:-

Setting the custom variable as common.

If a variable is present across multiple processes or queues, and you want to extract the value for all processes or queues in which it appears, select the Common checkbox. This disables the variable for selection in all the other processes or queues where it appears.
