How to make sure the email address format entered in the form is correct?

Hi, so i have this word document inside containing sample information that i made for a school assignment, there is this email input in the form and i had to manually indicate the specific characters that is not suppose to appear in a normal email address. how do i make it that it will indicate that the email address given is not of format? please help! thank you.

can you be a little specific on what type of validation are you look at?

and do you want to validate the data after they fill and give the word documents to you?

or you want that when they fill it should prompt that these characters are not allowed?
