How to make dropdown based on data from data services

I see great potential in using the new integration between data services and apps that was just released a few days ago.

I have been trying to build an app with drop downs as key inputs, however the dropdown selection-list should be based on a data service entity field or a filtered field.

Any tips on how to accomplish this?
