Hello everyone, now as I am gong through the training for Automation Business Analyst, I see the capabilities of the Automation Hub. Granted, not fully do i understand evert facet of the Hub, but it seems to me to be a one stop shop for all things automation. Who here uses the Hub for everything, regarding putting a BOT into production? from documents, data, and everything associated with the BOT? I am curious to see reasons why that would be a good idea, and why using the hub for everything, would be a bad idea. So, instead of using sharepoint, local drives, for gathering everything one needs for the BOT(PDD, data, and other files associated with bringing a BOT into production) why not use the Hub as a central repository and give permissions to various stakeholders accordingly. Or am I wrong in thinking the Hub can be used as a central repository.
Hi ,
I can share my knowledge regarding the Automation Hub. Automation hub is a separate portal provided by UiPath which ideally we could share with everyone in our organization. It is a one-time license and the cost doesnt increase based on the number of people accessing the site.
Automation Hub is expected for everyone to share their idea of automation by answering few basic question regarding the automation requirement. These questins could be easily configured by the CoE Team. Mainly Business Analyst takes this responsibity considering the phase is Discovery. Once the idea is submitted - Automation hub will evaluate the answers and assign a score for the project. Based on the scores - BA could decide which idea to take forward and contact business point of contact to get more details. We can change the status of the project based on the progress. These status could also be modified. Example - Idea β Requirement Gathering β Designβ> Development β Testing β Production β Hyper Care etc
On the other side β We cannot use Automation hub as a project management tool as it does not have the capability to track every steps. Example - Requirement Upload, Test Case management, Defect tracking etc. You can use this tool for managing high level details only as of now. UiPath is working to enhance the capabilities.
Since October 2022 you have been able to integrate Automation Hub to Jira so you can use Automation Hub for the automation things and Jira for the project management things.

Hi @rezart_mersini,
Below reviews from users who have used Automation Hub might also be helpful in clearing out the fog.

We are a large department, at least that is what I think, there might be much bigger teams. We have devs., scrum master, 2 business analysts. The team does use the automation hub, but as I am going through some online training, I thought the automation hub offers a lot more, in terms of sharing ideas for new automation projects, but we are not utilizing it in that manner. So, I though I explore more, and learn more, before I suggest expanding the use of the automation hub. We do use Jira, so the fact that these two can be integrated is a positive. We have few checklists that each dev.has to update for each automation. I was thinking these files can be uploaded to the hub as a central repository for each automation, instead of having the files on SharePoint. Not sure if that is doable or even if it is best practice.
Thanks a lot for sharing and happy holidays!
Thanks, this is helpful
Thank you, this is the one thing that i think might help UiPath become that much stronger. Maybe I am biased as this is what I was actually looking for lol
This is great to know. Thanks a lot for sharing.
