Force Refresh computer vision screenshot

Hi, I’m automating a remote app via Citrix with modern activities using CV (remote runtime is not an option).

I currently have the problem that the CV mode sometimes caches the results, but the caching strategy is insufficiently sensitive and doesn’t refresh properly if the screen changes are very minor (e.g. a search result message changes from 0 to 10 but nothing else changes on the screen, CV text will always return 0 even after it changes to 10).

Is there a way to force the robot to refresh the CV screenshot and resulting objects? I tried using a separate Use Application scope in the hope that this would force a refresh, but no dice.

Please don’t respond with “CV Refresh”, that activity was part of a deprecated package and is not available anymore

Hi @Stefan_Reutter

You can try adding a small delay before the CV activity to allow the screen to update fully. Also, use the refresh property in the CV activities if available, or invoke a hotkey like F5 or send a small mouse move to trigger screen redraw

Happy Automation

Thanks for trying to help but none of these is applicable, I’m using get text in a loop with a delay and it always keeps returning 0 even after the text changes. There is no refresh property in modern activities. Mouse move does not trigger a CV refresh, that would invalidate the whole point of the caching.

I might try the old CV activities as a last resort, but not particularly keen on it

Eh, that doesn’t sound much better than using the old CV scope

How do you think anchors would help? The whole problem is that it will never detect that the anchor appears because it doesn’t detect that the screen changed…
