I have reset the OS (Windows 10) thrice since the day I bought new HP laptop 15 days back. Every time I reset and install a new copy of Studio it works fine but as soon as. I am connected to Orchestrator once, Esc and F2 keys stop working to pause or delay the recording during the element selection mode.
This is really frustrating as I am not able to select many elements in hidden menu as there is no way to delay the recording.
Please help. UiPath studio is not successfully working on my laptop.
Little help here please. I am able to use my new laptop due to this issue. I am facing issues with ‘Get IMAP’ activity as well. Everything else woks fine on the laptop, only when UiPath comes into picture, few things stop working once I connect to Orchestrator once. Later even when I diconnect, it never works.
Hi @Forum_Staff, could you please help a little here. I am able to use the UiPath community edition on my old lenevo laptop but not on the new HP laptop due to this Esc and F2 issue. IMAP and SMTP activities related to email automation also don’t seem to work. Any help would be great. thanks.
@Gaurav1 Can you update your dependencies to the latest version, from the screenshot it seems that you are using the 18.3 version of System.Activities. Update all packages to the latest version and try to connect to Orchestrator. Try using Esc or F2 keys again. I’m not sure if this will work but we can try
@supermanPunch, thank you very much for your response. I am able to see the ‘Open Workflow’ button after updating the latest version of the activities.
The original issue of Esc and F2 not working still persists.

After further analysis, I found out that the issue could be with combination of
Windows 10 Home + [Studio] Pro 2020.4.1 OR
HP 14q Core i5 8th Gen + [Studio] Pro 2020.4.1 OR
Windows 10 Home + [Studio] Pro 2020.4.1 + HP 14q Core i5 8th Gen
The strange thing is my F2 Key stops working once I load the UiPath [Studio] after restarting the laptop. Even when I close the [Studio], the issue persists.
Basically loading the [Studio] once is stopping the functioning of F2 until next restart.
It’s very weird issue but ‘Yes’ I am facing it on my fresh new HP laptop.
@Forum_Staff could you please help here? It’s my new laptop and nothing wrong with any other software. Only UiPath, few functions like Esc(to come out of selection mode) and F2(to delay selection mode), IMAP and SMTP for email automation don’t work.
Please note that Esc and F2 buttons are perfectly working fine outside UiPath studio and I have tried Fn+F2, Ctrl+F2 or Shift+F2 to be sure that I am pressing the right button.
