Error converting value "[2.4.6884.25683]" to type 'System.Version'

All of a sudden I’m getting this error message:

Error converting value "[2.4.6884.25683]" to type 'System.Version'

I tried restarting the PC, uninstalling Excel package and re-installing it but it didn’t have any difference. The value that it shows seems to be the Excel version of the package.

Any ideas on what could be causing this error? I can’t open the project to debug it either.

If I look at line 6 in the code I don’t see any reference to Excel or anything that might be related to the error message.

I managed to fix the problem. Here is what I did in case it helps someone.

The problem was in the project.json file:

To fix the problem I renamed the json file and when running the process a new file was created.
