that is related to the security policy in your laptop, you need to get the extension whitelisted via your IT Team

Turn on the option, “Allow extensions from other stores”
That is the Edge settings, I strongly believe, as it is a work laptop, that it is due to the security policy. We have had this scenario and got the whitelisting done from the IT team to have it enable and always working.
