AI Challenge Chronic Disease Prediction using Lab Data
Use Case Description
We all understand that health is one of the most important aspects of one’s life.
41 million people die from chronic diseases, which is 71% of total deaths each year. Chronic diseases include heart attacks, cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, etc.
These days, many people get the health check-up done either proactively or at the nudge of a doctor. Few of the companies too have an annual health check up done for its employees. But how much of this reports do we understand? We are mostly dependent on the doctor to interpret this report and give the analysis for them. Many a times, people do not even have time to consult a doctor for a report. The interpretation is solely dependent on the experience and qualification of the doctor. Many of the patients cannot afford the expensive consultation of the doctors as well. How can one leverage AI to help in this case?
The new process leverage’s AI to interpret the patient results. The ML model will first be trained via the different existing data sets from hospital and other sources.
The process will get the lab report data for different patients ( there will be a predefined consent from patients for getting this data ). The data will be pushed to the ML model to predict the likelihood of disease for a patient. The model will compare the results along with the lifestyle data available for the patient and based on do the prediction. In case there is any alarming prediction, the report data will be sent to the doctor to validate via an automated email. The doctor can then go the UiPath App and either approve or disapprove the reading. The doctor’s input will be sent to the ML model for better prediction going forward. In case the doctor confirms that the patient is susceptible to a disease going forward, it will be informed to the patient immediately. This allows the patient to take corrective option as soon as possible.
