AI Challenge - Automated Medical Coding

Use Case Description

This is a real time use case for home health care organization. Clinical coding is indeed a complex task. It takes much time to do the process manually. Medical coding is also prone to errors due to incompleteness in a patient’s data, lack of coding expertise, or data entry errors. AI technology (Natural Language Processing) has a potential to assigning clinical codes on the basis of patient notes.
Usecase can be mapped as below:

  1. User enters patient notes in UiPath Apps.
  2. This notes are added in Data Service.
  3. ICD codes are assigned to this notes using language classification model from AI center.
  4. This assigned codes are reviewed by medical coder in UiPath Action Center.
  5. If it is approved, data is then entered in legacy application by Robot.
    This is a AI usecase with human in a loop for verification in action center.
