Activity Block Colours in Studio

Would it be possible to add a feature, where you can right click on an activity in studio, and change the colour of that activity block in studio? This would make it easier to follow more complex workflows, and also allow color coding sections for easy identification.

I agree - or possibly icons like HP OO allows:

It would be nice if, along with the ability to annotate, we were able to set colors for activities. I noticed that the AS IS workflows of the PDD’s for the academy trainings used coloring in order to cut portions of the workflow into specific pieces, and having flowcharts with the same coloring may make it easier to match and comprehend. I could also see this being useful for having a visual queue for things that may need to be looked at later. Having a sequence with a red bar would be a clear indicator that it needs to be looked at for instance.

Can this post be merged with this, as it’s a duplicate? Activity Block Colours in Studio @loginerror

Hi @andrewjames

Yes it can, as it also merges the votes  Thanks!

Why would you merge mine into this one? I had posted mine first. @loginerror

Does it matter? We’re all working towards the same goal @dmccammond
I think it’s great that there are lots of people having the same idea to improve Studio! Lets hope they go ahead with it!

@andrewjames Yes, it matters in terms of credit. It’s obvious that he should’ve scrolled down a single day’s worth of feature requests to notice mine and vote on it. Instead, I’m relegated to being in that position. If it’s implemented, I would use it in future interviews. I would consider it very important.

Agree with this completely, given that @dmccammond had raised first, and it was author of this thread (the later one), @andrewjames, who even suggested the merger.

Whoops, sorry guys! It seems like I didn’t pay enough attention when clicking around.
Normally I always merge the newer thread into the older one…

Thankfully, discourse remembers the timestamp of each post, so @dmccammond is unquestionably the first person to suggest this feature (at least in this current thread)

I hope we can all live with this topic being as is (it’s a bit tricky to shuffle it the other way…).

Get the feature implemented ASAP and sure we’ll all live happily

What can you buy with that credit?

Could the option to also change the color of activities that have been commented out be added? Many other development tools change the color of comments, making clear that they are not part of the active workflow. This becomes an issue in UiPath when commenting out a sequence that covers more than a page.

You could just collapse it so it occupies only one line

I could do that, I did end up doing that for now. This doesn’t always work when working on a team if the other person comments something out and doesn’t collapse it. It would still be nice for the activity to turn a nice red or green color when commented out.

I would agree with @nlee1131
This would be a useful feature - either commented out code to change colour, or opacity.
Yes, you can collapse the block of code, but I collapse lots of blocks of code when developing, so this isn’t a great solution.

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion. I added it to our internal ideas tracker for our team to consider.

Hi Uipath Team,

One thing I have observed, when developing process in sequence with adding “N” no. of activities with their scope. At some point it messy n difficult to find a particular activity scope. For that we have to scroll up back to activity and require to activate to see till where its scope in sequence.
If we can have a option like add color to scope we can at least know scope for same activity in through project. Then it will be easy to find relevant scope to drop an activities.

@mitesh_parmar… Great idea to reduce messiness…:+1::clap::clap:

This would be amazing, at my workplace we are beggin for it! When workflow becomes intrincated we add codes in the invokes activities in order to relate them to previos activities and/or invokes which makes everything confusing and slow to identify. This would be an amazing implementation!
