Which is better, uploading files to storage bucket or keeping the file on local server folder?

Hello,

We have a scenario where we are

  1. downloading PDF files from emails
  2. saving the files (on local drive or storage bucket)
  3. processing the documents through document understanding
  4. input the data to ERP system

I have a question on point 2, which approach would be better - saving the files on local folder and accessing it from local drive or storing the files on storage bucket and access the files from storage bucket? We would receive huge number of files.

You wouldn’t want to use a storage bucket for this, you’d spend too much time uploading and downloading files to/from the bucket. You can’t read files directly from a storage bucket, nor copy/move them, or anything else.
