When sending Excel Data via Gmail: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process

In my application I am first writing into an excel file, then reading from it and sending some of the contents via mail to myself. However, there is a problem with the email (the rest works just fine) but no matter where I put the email component, there is a problem with the excel file!
Here is my worklflow: (I can only add one picture, I’m sorry. Before this, I just browse for my excel file)

It sounds like the Excel file might still be open or locked when you’re trying to send the email. Try adding a small delay after writing to Excel or use the ‘Workbook’ activities instead of ‘Excel Application Scope’ to avoid file lock issues

Hi @Carolin_Weimer,
Its because you have used send mail activity inside of the excel process scope.
Solution :
Send Email activity bring out of excel process scope.

Keep send email activity out of excel application scope. Inside the scope - excel is open

Once it is outside only - the excel will be closed

Hi @Carolin_Weimer

Welcome to community!!

you are using send email activity inside of excel process scope. you can keep complete outside of parent excel activity.
then it will works

Happy automation!!

@Carolin_Weimer You are trying to send email inside excel process scope which is using the excel file. As file is being used by use excel activity, it will throw an error that it is already being used.

Solution is keep send Email activity outside the Excel process scope.

If issue still persists add kill activity before send email activity to kill excel application
