Studio Web

Overview

UiPath Studio Web enables you to build and test cross-platform automations across online business apps and services.

All you need to start using Studio Web is a web browser. You can access it from any operating system, it requires no installation, it has no IT dependencies, and it is always up to date.

Studio Web is a great starting point for your automation journey. It is easy to use, you don’t need programming skills to build automations, and multiple templates are available to get you started.

Automations created in Studio Web are cross-platform, they run on serverless robots that are already provisioned for you, but they can also run on Windows, Mac, or Linux robots.

Studio Web enables you to:

  • Take advantage of the getting started experience and multiple automation templates to learn the basics of automation quickly.
  • Build personal automations for your online apps and services, share your projects and collaborate with others.
  • Start automations manually, on a schedule, or when specific events occur in your applications.
  • Automate interactions with websites in your browser - navigate to web pages, automate authentication, or extract text and table data.
  • Use Document Understanding to extract, process, and validate documents.

To ensure organizations have control over how Studio Web is used, administrators can deploy governance policies from Automation Ops.

Who can use Studio Web

Studio Web can be used by anyone who wants to automate their online applications - business users, citizen developers, RPA developers, IT admins, Orchestrator admins, and more. With Studio Web, you can get started in minutes and build automations without using code, making it the ideal tool for anyone who wants to learn how to automate.

Applications you can automate with Studio Web

Studio Web enables you to automate the most popular online applications and services. Here are just a few examples:

  • Productivity: Google Workspace (Spreadsheets, Drive, Calendar, and Email), Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Calendar, Email).
  • IT: Amazon Web Services, Amazon WorkSpaces, Google Cloud, Azure, Azure Active Directory.
  • Communication: Slack, Zoom.
  • Sales: Salesforce.
  • Human resources: Workday.
  • Software development: ServiceNow, Jira, OpenAI.

If you want to see Studio Web in action with examples of automations you can create for various scenarios, check out the Introducing Studio Web series of demos.

Get started with Studio Web

To access Studio Web, go to https://studio.uipath.com. If you don’t have a UiPath account, sign up to try UiPath for free, with options available for both commercial and non-commercial use.

Alternatively, you can access Studio Web from the left navigation menu in UiPath Automation Cloud.

The first time you open Studio Web. you are prompted to customize your experience based on your department and applications you use. Studio Web comes with a number of built-in templates for automating common scenarios that can help you get started quickly. The recommended templates are based on your previous selections. If you later switch to another department or start using new services, you can change your preferences at any time by selecting > Restart getting started at the top of any page.

We recommend checking out the available templates and creating an automation from one. When you start from a template, you are taken into a guided experience that helps you learn the basics such as triggers and activities, you get to run your first workflow and then publish the automation.

Are you ready to create your first automation? Go to the Templates page in Studio Web.

Hi @shruthi_arali

It is a Web studio- Without installation of UiPath,we can able to do automations using webstudio.
You can find how to use and learnt by the following thread.

https://docs.uipath.com/studio-web/automation-cloud/latest/user-guide/overview

Hope it helps!!

Hi @shruthi_arali

That’s the Studio Web one of the service that UiPath has introduced

As a highlevel difference, If your automation end to end is using only SAAS application then you can use this Studio for automation, If it involves desktop automation then you can choose Studio Desktop

By that so Studio Web couldn’t work with Desktop automations

For more things you can check the documentation

Hope this may help you

Thanks,
Srini

Hi @shruthi_arali

Studio Web is a cloud based server environment which contains pre defined templates and drag and drag and drop activities to work. You can design your workflow and run the process without downloading UiPath Studio. The process will run in Picture in Picture mode and you can see the Automation process. You can either use pre defined template or create a new project and build your workflow.

Hope it helps!!

Hi @shruthi_arali

→ UiPath Studio web is the cloud source. We can develop the bot to automate here only. We have already predefined templates we can use those templates for the development or we can create the project from scratch.

→ We can login to the cloud.uipath.com website in any machine and you can develop the project in Studio web from any where and from any machine by login with your credentials.

→ In UiPath studio, we work on excel files and all but in web studio we have to work on google worksheets, office 365 worksheets.

→ The whole input files we use in web studio in cloud only by google drive or Microsoft office 365 drive.

→ The Running of program will shows at the right side in web studio. We can debug the program as in UiPath studio.

We can do the document understanding in the Web studio.

Hope it helps!!

@shruthi_arali

It is web based studio development environment which can be used to develop cross platform projects…you need not install studio and no setup is needed directly a project can be created and run in cross platform compatibility

The robots can run on serverless robots or cloud vm’s that are present which is more supported for cross platform and api related automations where no local interaction is needed

cheers
