Unattended automation

Hi,
What are the differences between attended automation to unattended automation other than no user interaction in unattended and being scheduled from Orchestrator? Would appreciate detailed explanation.

Thank you,

@A_Learner,

In the context of RPA (Robotic Process Automation), attended automation and unattended automation differ significantly in their execution and use cases. Attended automation is user-initiated and typically assists human workers by automating specific tasks during their workflow. This type of automation runs on the same machine as the user and requires input or triggers from the user to proceed, making it ideal for tasks that need human judgment or intervention.

Unattended automation, on the other hand, operates without human intervention. It runs independently in a virtual environment or on a dedicated server and can be scheduled and managed through Orchestrator. This setup allows processes to be executed 24/7, which is perfect for high-volume, repetitive tasks that do not require human judgment, such as data entry, processing transactions, or generating reports. Unattended automation can also handle multi-step processes across different applications and systems automatically, ensuring consistent and quick task completion.
