SAP(desktop) to S4 Hana Migration

Hello all, I want to know if we can migrate data from SAP(desktop) to s4 HANA using UiPath. If yes , Please help me with the steps or procedure to achieve this.

@Shukla_Mayuri,

Here are few threads to get started.

Hello all, I wanted to know if RPA can help in S4 HANA migration , for example in reporting, testing etc.

Hi Shukla

RPA/UiPath can be utilised in migration projects as you face both one-time tasks but also recurring jobs to be done.

One-time tasks can be preparing data, master data cleansing, clean-up jobs etc. - it makes sense to use RPA even for one-off jobs as there are many transactions (i.e. rows of data/records etc.) to be processed.

The recurring jobs can be especially in testing new features. It doesn’t always have to be automated, though - with Test Manager you could bring both manual and automated testing onto the same platform and keep track of both disciplines. What’s most important about starting to automate in migration, however, is that you’re already preparing your automations to be then used in the new, productive SAP S/4HANA. The processes might differ from how they are now (in the old system), of course, but automation is then already part of the new way of work, the new solution.

Here are two helpful resources from UiPath to share with you and to dive in further:
Blog “Accelerate SAP S/4HANA Migration with Automation”

And a document on “Automate your SAP S/4HANA Migration with UiPath RPA”

Hope this helps! All the best for the upcoming migration!

Hi Shukla,

Roman’s assessment is spot-on about leveraging UiPath for S/4HANA migrations. however, I would like to add that including process mining services can further enhance the benefits of using UiPath for these migrations and should be considered as a starting point. Some of the benefits and value adds of process mining in an S4 migrating include:

Enhancing Data Integrity and Process Efficiency By integrating process mining, you gain a deeper understanding of your existing processes, allowing you to identify inefficiencies and organize your data before migration. This strategic insight minimizes risks and reduces costs significantly.

From Planning to Post-Migration Optimization Process mining captures and visualizes your current workflows, ensuring that every step of the migration aligns with your operational goals. After migration, the analytics capabilities of process mining can continually refine and optimize new processes within S/4HANA, ensuring ongoing efficiency.

Comprehensive Migration Approach Combining UiPath’s automation with their process mining services ensures a thorough approach to migration. While RPA handles task automation, process mining provides the strategic oversight needed to align these tasks with business objectives and uncover additional areas for automation.

For more details on how our partner services can support in leveraging UiPath for S/4HANA migration, please feel free to reach out to me and I will provide more details. See also an overview we have put together on the topic here: Verdant Data S/4HANA Final

Looking forward to your thoughts
