Summary (abstract)

RiskOrbit is an intelligent, multi-agent automation framework built using UiPath Coded Agents and UiPath Agent Builder to help organizations proactively assess global supply chain risks. It integrates real-time data from logistics APIs, geopolitical feeds, tariff and trade policy documents, and supplier records to deliver a unified, explainable risk assessment for every shipment or purchase order.

Detailed problem statement

Modern supply chains face continuous volatility — from geopolitical instability and port congestion to unpredictable tariff shifts and trade restrictions.

Expeditors and operations teams currently rely on multiple disconnected systems (customs portals, logistics dashboards, news feeds, and internal ERPs) to identify risks. This leads to delayed reactions, poor coordination, and missed opportunities to reroute or renegotiate shipments.

The challenge was to build a context-aware, automated risk assessment system that continuously evaluates supplier, logistics, and political factors and provides actionable insights in near real time — without human intervention.

Detailed solution

RiskOrbit solves this by orchestrating specialized agents within a UiPath automation pipeline:

:one: EquipmentAPI & SupplierAPI: Collect purchase order, container, project, and supplier data from ERP or internal APIs.
:two: SchedulerAPI: Calculates baseline delivery timelines and links to logistics/port data.
:three: Political Geo Agent (UiPath Agent Builder): Calls internal MCP tools — Port Status Checker API, Scheduler API, Travel Advisory API, and News MCP Server — to verify the current geopolitical and port situation, generating a country-level risk score and recommending the next step.
:four: Trade Tariff Agent (UiPath Coded Agent): Uses context grounding with Trade Policy and Tariff Policy documents to extract tariff rates, compliance rules, and effective dates, and evaluates how trade changes affect ongoing shipments.
:five: SendEmail: Aggregates all agent outputs into a unified “Risk Summary Report,” automatically sent to expeditors and supply-chain managers.

Each agent operates independently through UiPath MCP and SDK integrations, ensuring scalability and easy extension for other use cases (e.g., insurance risk, vendor credit scoring).

Expected impact of this automation

Time saved: Reduces manual research and data collection time by 80–90%.

Operational efficiency: Enables proactive rerouting and supplier communication before risks escalate.

Decision quality: Consolidates multiple risk signals (political, logistical, and financial) into a single, explainable output.

Compliance: Automates validation against trade policy documents, reducing customs or tariff-related penalties.

Scalability: Designed as a modular coded-agent ecosystem, allowing new risk modules (like environmental, cyber, or credit risk) to plug into the same pipeline.
