How to use Excel as a database source in the Database Connect activity

How can I use Excel as a source in my database activity?

At the moment of writing this content, the latest version of the UiPath.Database.Activities package is 1.7.1 and the instructions apply to it and the previous versions.

  1. Open any Excel file (it does not have to be the file planned to be used as a source)
  2. Given that the Database package is already added to the project, use the "Connect to database" activity
  3. Click "Configure connection" -> Connection Wizard
  4. From "Data source", select "Microsoft ODBC Data Source"
  5. From the "Details" section, select "Use connection string" and click "Build"
  6. Go to the "Machine Data Source" tab
  7. Click New
  8. Click Next
  9. Select Microsoft Excel Driver(.xls) from the menu
  10. Next
  11. Finish
  12. Give Some Data Source Name and Description --> Select workbook --> Select the Excel file you intend to use as source.
  13. Press "OK" for all the Windows.

A post was split to a new topic: Use mysql to retrieve data from the Excel into a data table

Hello @loginerror ,

Please note that the two links are not public.
I’m afraid that not everyone can retrieve the data.

Best regards,
Marius
