Definition of "Machine"

Hello, I’m new to UiPath and I have completed the Orchestrator training. I only had one issue: can’t understand what the manual and course have in mind when they say: “Machine”. Maybe I’m just a bit daft and they are simply refering to the computer on which my robot runs but it’s not very clear to me. Can someone confirm my daftness and/or give me a definition?

Since it’s the only topic asking this, I’m inclined to take the stupidity path but having some confirmation always helps.
