Candidate Shortlisting - Keyword Search and weighted candidate score calculation

Description

Problem Statement:
As part of the hiring process, officers are responsible for the initial screening of documents submitted by candidates. With thousands of applications received every month, this manual process is repetitive, time-consuming, and inefficient.

Solution:
The system allows users to input keywords relevant to each job description. The robot automatically unzips and converts the submitted PDF or Word documents into text, then performs a keyword search based on the job requirements.

Example:

Candidate Name: Jon Smith
Documents Scanned: CV.pdf, Degree Transcript.pdf, Job Application.PDF
Candidate’s Score: 4.58
Keywords Matched: degree, social, volunteer, stakeholder, etc.

Outcome:
By using a combination of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and user-maintained mapping tables, the initial CV screening process is automated. Multiple attended robots are now capable of processing thousands of applications per month, significantly reducing the manual effort required. Tasks that previously took 4-6 hours per day can now be completed by the robot in minutes. This not only delivers a rapid return on investment (ROI), but also allows staff to focus on screening high-potential candidates. The robot calculates an overall candidate score and provides a list of keywords matched along with other key information.
